The Absent Center
The Absent Center is an immersive three-channel video installation that guides the audience into a labyrinth constructed from memory fragments, symbolic imagery, and multi-layered narratives. Centered on the artist's proposed theory of the 'absent center,' the work expresses the rupture and unease experienced by individuals in their perception of time, spatial memory, and linguistic expression under traumatic experiences.
Through juxtaposed images from everyday details and mnemonic objects to metaphorical symbols—the video continuously oscillates, leaps, and associates across the three screens. The audience is invited to traverse between a blurred past and a disordered present, experiencing the collapse of linear time and the untraceability of memory anchors. Ultimately, the work questions the blurred boundaries between memory, illusion, and the impossibility of representation.
