Jiang Shuhan

Bio

Jiang Shuhan (b. 2002, Huzhou) is an interdisciplinary artist and researcher. He received his B.A. in Public Art from Shantou University in 2025 and is currently an M.A. candidate at the Dutch Art Institute (DAI). He lives and works between Shanghai and Rotterdam.

His practice spans moving image, installation, photography, performance, and writing. He is interested in experiences that resist complete representation: gaps in personal and collective memory, unstable histories, and moments when language and established knowledge fail to contain lived experience.

Working with archives, embodied actions, site-specific encounters, and fiction, Jiang explores how images, bodies, and spaces can approach what remains absent, silent, or inaccessible. Rather than reconstructing a coherent truth, his works often move through fragments, repetition, disappearance, and shifting perspectives, creating poetic structures where individual experience intersects with larger historical and social conditions.
